In a world increasingly aware of the devastating impact of plastic pollution, I’m Plastic Free stands out as a pioneering initiative offering practical solutions for individuals seeking to reduce their plastic footprint. Founded by Simona Paganetto in 2018, this innovative digital platform provides an easy and efficient way to find alternatives to plastic products, helping users make more sustainable choices in their everyday lives.
The vision behind I’m Plastic Free
The idea for the project was born from Simona Paganetto’s passion to combat plastic pollution. In 2014, while living in the Whitsundays, Australia, Simona, an Italian-born environmental advocate, volunteered for beach clean-ups and witnessed firsthand the massive amounts of plastic waste polluting our oceans and harming marine life. Determined to make a difference, she decided to take action.
Simona’s vision took shape in 2018 with the launch of I’m Plastic Free — a digital platform designed to connect conscious consumers with eco-friendly products and innovative brands dedicated to eliminating plastic waste. From reusable stainless-steel straws to non-toxic cookware, synthetic-free bedding, and compostable clothing, the platform offers a wide range of alternatives that make it easier to live a plastic-free life.
A Comprehensive Resource for Sustainable Living
“I’m Plastic Free is the world’s first platform of its kind, offering a unique marketplace where consumers can find, share, and discover sustainable solutions to plastic pollution”, she says. “With over 100 blog articles backed by peer-reviewed studies, the platform promotes products that are circular, low-carbon, zero-waste, and free from plastic. It reaches a global audience of over 384,000 users annually, reflecting the growing demand for eco-friendly products and practices.”
“Our mission is to make it as easy as possible for people to find alternatives to plastic, so they can live more sustainably and support a circular economy,” adds Paganetto, who brings over 15 years of commercial experience and expertise in sustainable business practices.
