Personal development and conscious fashion are intertwined as both emphasize self-awareness and intentionality in choices. Embracing conscious fashion encourages individuals to reflect on their values, promoting sustainable practices and ethical consumption. This journey fosters a deeper understanding of one’s impact on the environment and society, aligning personal growth with a commitment to mindfulness in lifestyle choices. In this interview with Lou Stokes, a multifaceted entrepreneur based in Madrid, we delve into her inspiring journey from London to becoming a passionate advocate for sustainable fashion and holistic living.
As a multifaceted entrepreneur, how would you describe your various activities?
I blend my passions for sustainable fashion, well-being, and personal development across various platforms. My work includes consulting brands to enhance their sustainability practices and foster deeper connections with conscious consumers. I conduct workshops and give talks globally on sustainable fashion and holistic living, and I also teach sustainable fashion at various universities. As a yoga instructor, I emphasize mindfulness in my teachings to promote a balanced lifestyle. Additionally, I’m an author, speaker, and podcaster, sharing insights that encourage thoughtful choices.
What sustainable fashion projects are you currently working on?
I’m involved in several initiatives aimed at transforming the fashion industry’s approach to sustainability. A key project includes creating retreats that combine yoga with sustainable fashion education, offering participants a comprehensive experience that connects well-being with mindful consumption. I’m collaborating with brands to educate their teams about responsible fashion and living while fostering a sense of community with their consumers. Furthermore, I’m developing a digital course to make sustainable fashion knowledge more accessible to a wider audience.
With your commitment to consciousness, where do you see yourself in five years?
That’s an interesting question! I find it challenging to predict the future since I prefer to live in a state of flow, balancing my aspirations with openness to life’s possibilities. In five years, I envision myself leading a movement that seamlessly integrates conscious living, responsible fashion, and sustainability into daily life. I hope to conduct transformative retreats that encourage participants to embrace sustainable lifestyles, publish my second book, and deliver a TED Talk to amplify my message globally. I aim to expand my speaking engagements, reaching diverse audiences with impactful workshops and talks. My digital course on sustainable fashion and conscious living will be a widely recognized resource, empowering individuals to make informed decisions. Additionally, I plan to continue collaborating with brands, helping them innovate and forge deeper connections with consumers, ultimately driving meaningful change in the fashion industry.
