From February 5 to 7, Texworld and Apparel Sourcing Paris welcomed nearly 8,000 international visitors to the Parc des Expositions at Porte de Versailles to discover the offerings of 1,300 exhibitors from 25 countries. The event highlighted the crucial importance of European markets for international fashion, and introduced Econogy, a tool to promote sustainable fashion.
Both shows highlighted their role as platforms for exchanges between designers, buyers and suppliers, with a particularly strong presence of buyers from the Euromed zone.
The event also highlighted the complementary nature of Texworld and Apparel Sourcing Paris. Professionals like Agathe Coudert, stylist for George Rech, shared their experience of the added value of these shows in designing future collections, choosing specific fabrics and complex finished products. Exhibitors, for their part, took the opportunity to present their innovations, such as Oracle Textile Technology and Liberty Mills, which showcased new fabric and cotton ranges.
Under the banner of accessibility, this edition highlighted near sourcing, with the participation of nine Ukrainian companies under the Ukrlegprom banner, as well as Bulgarian, Italian and Dutch companies. This initiative underlines the show’s commitment to adapting to market trends and strengthening European sourcing schemes.
Econogy at the heart of sustainability
The Texpertise Econogy initiative was another highlight, promoting sustainability among exhibitors and establishing itself as a benchmark in the sourcing industry. This is in line with Messe Frankfurt’s strategy of promoting sustainable solutions through its 50 global textile trade fairs.
With the change of name to Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris, this edition marks a strategic evolution, underlining the growing importance of fashion sourcing and the expansion of brand universes. The next edition, scheduled for July 1-3, 2024, promises to build on this momentum, unaffected by the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
